Every trench is built to meet the plans outlined by the utility companies. Typically, for each residential property, we create two trenches -- one for water and one for all of the dry utilities. Because the dry utility trench must accommodate multiple conduits, we take great care to ensure it has the proper depth and the required amount of separation or clearance between each conduit. Once a trench is complete, we have the site inspected, reinforced, and protected with shading materials. It is then backfilled up to grade. Then, we pull a mandrel through each of the conduits to make sure they are clear from one end to the other, and not broken or oval.
